PAST COMMISSIONS
Example 1
The clients commissioned us to find individual works of art to compliment their contemporary architect designed indoor swimming pool, complete with glass wall by well-known glass artist, Danny Lane.
We selected 2 of our “Porthole Swimmers”. Exclusive to Pool Art & Interiors in Europe, these individual figurative swimmers are hand sculpted by acclaimed ceramist, Emilia Cunliffe, in Chile. Swimming in a sea of turquoise/green resin, they are framed in stainless-steel portholes and integrally lit with LED lighting.
Example 2
The clients commissioned our Interior Design service to assist with all 'finishing touches' to their indoor pool, including the ancillary dining/games room and cinema.
In keeping with the stylistic brief of “classic with a contemporary twist” and working closely with the clients, we sourced the water–spouting lion heads for the niches in the pool room, and all furniture, accessories and fabrics for the other rooms. Our service included the making up of all curtains and cushions by our own team of seamstresses. The dining table, which doubles as a billiard table, was stained to match the beams and doors. We also sourced the water feature for the garden.
Example 3
The clients wanted their indoor pool room to accurately portray particular scenes and figures from the original art work carried out in Ancient Egypt. We selected a muralist who has been to study the pyramids, and has experience replicating this subject matter.
The client wrote “..the work is completed and it has exceeded our expectations, we are absolutely delighted with the outcome.”
Example 4
These clients also wanted an Egyptian inspired indoor pool room, but preferred to draw on the Egyptian colour palette and design without replicating any of the figures. They also commissioned a mural at the far end of the pool depicting an Egyptian landscape scene in the style of David Roberts. We continued the line of columns in the mural so that the room appears to extend into the distant hills. The 3 alcove ceilings were painted to show blue sky turning to dusk.
Example 5
We painted the fibreglass pilasters around the pool to match the stone floor which is a cost effective alternative to real stone! We also painted a trompe l’oeil arch containing a marbled pedestal and urn.
Example 6
The clients wanted a favourite scene of ‘Beachy Head’ painted as a triptych along the back wall of their indoor pool. We recommended an excellent landscape painter. Due to the close proximity of the wall to the water, and also due to the clients passion for volleyball, we are blowing up the original and digitally dividing it into 3 panels to print onto a moisture resistant vinyl, bonded to a firm aluminium backing.
