We have several years experience pebbling pools, including recommending appropriate pool fittings and lighting to fully enhance the stunning appearance of the pebble.
Ideally, pool finishing should be considered prior to the construction of the pool shell. This will ensure that the pool fittings and underwater lights can be installed to an appropriate tolerance for the pebble finish.
Pebbling is particularly suitable for freeform pools and spas, where tile joints and cut tiles can look unsightly.
The choice of pebble affects the colour of the pool water. Pool water naturally has a blue colour and our PebbleTec ® Paradise Blue is essentially white pebbles with blue flecks of colour which produce an attractive feature within the pool. This white pebble will produce a sky blue water colour, which looks stunning within both indoor and outdoor pools.
Should a more aquamarine colour be preferred PebbleTec ® Sandy Beach creates a soft blue-green water colour, reminiscent of a sandy sea pool.
PebbleTec ® combines 3mm pebbles with the stone colouring being more visible than PebbleSheen ®. PebbleSheen ® is smoother combining 1mm pebbles with the natural stone colouring being less evident. Samples of both can be provided on request
In order to assess a potential pebble project, we need to consider the following:
- Shape and size of pool
- Depth and base configuration
- Level deck water or freeboard (with pool water approximately 180mm below coping level)
- Pool fittings to accord with 8 – 15mm pebble thickness
- Waterproofing method around underwater lights and pool fitting
- Other features in pool to be waterproofed: motorised cover pit, balance tank and level deck channel, pool steps or spa, underwater lights and fittings.
- Is freeboard to be pebbled or clad in stone – slate and limestone are frequently used.
Once the above has been determined, we will submit a detailed estimate and discuss your required programme.
Pebbling can usually be arranged within three to four weeks of order.
