Design Fees
Initially, SPD will arrange to visit clients and/or their professional advisors to discuss the scope of the required works. SPD will then propose design related fees to clients prior to works being commissioned.
SPD can be responsible for the complete detailing of an indoor pool project which tends to be divided between design development, detailed working drawings for pool and pool building, structural engineering, mechanical, electrical and interior design.
Alternatively, SPD will be responsible for pool-related and specialist items, to include pool plumbing, underwater lights, pool fittings, optional automatic cover, optional level deck water configuration and optional spa, sauna and/or steam room. Also complete fitting out of plant room to include pool and optional spa pump, filtration, minimal chlorine sanitising, spa air and water jets, heating, air handling, optional geothermal and pool equipment-related electrics. SPD are usually commissioned to be responsible for air handling detailing, including heating, ventilation, dehumidification, air circulation and air handling for any adjacent rooms.
Once an SPD fee quotation has been accepted, working drawings will be progressed and issued for discussion purposes and regular meetings held to progress all aspects of the scheme.
The completed package, whether pool only or including the pool building, will enable fixed cost quotations to be obtained from suitable specialist contractors.
SPD can be commissioned to be responsible for tendering of the project, tender analysis and submitting a detailed tender report to clients and/or their specialist advisors.
Once contractors have been selected, SPD will arrange to place the contract on the clients’ behalf and can also be engaged to administer the contract to ensure high quality workmanship to the agreed programme and cost through to commissioning and handover to clients.
An overall fee will be agreed dependent upon the scope of works and the complexity of the project.
